Is Our Bonding Over Yet? Please?
This weekend it has just been Devil Dog and me. Special K took the other two heathens to go visit his family. The in-laws have immune system issues which makes DD and I about as desirable as gangrene right now. I have this “It only hurts when I breathe…or blink…or do Kegels” thing happening and DD has a cough. And you know, I’m not saying my vagacises would affect my in-law’s health, but why risk it? And they do hurt and therefore, bear mentioning. So home we are.
I’ve had big plans for us even though we aren’t feeling well. Like sleeping in bed together, watching movies, maybe even cooking a little. And Devil Dog kinda isn’t having any of it. There have been several times he’s said “Momma, you’re annoying me” and I have to tell you, it hurts. Of course, the kid has no concept of inflection and wouldn’t embrace a verbal pause if it was served to him breaded, so it’s more like “mommayrnoyingmeeeeee”. But either way, mean.
We’ve never had this one-on-one time together. And I need to be the favorite parent; I’m bummed out that he’s not like…worshipping me. I guess when I do stuff like this:
I have to be realistic in my expectations.
Hoping to win him over tomorrow with gluten-free pancakes. Stay tuned.

and that’s about all i can say cuz I have no kids and don’t know what it feels like when they say stuff like that. :C
