Yeah, I’m Badass

When we last met, we were determining if I look black.  Or Cape Verdean, which my Evil Beet editor thought was a nationality I made up.  Believe me, if I was creating fictional nationalities, I could do better than Cape Verdean.  Like…Flamingish or Azulean.

I received an email from an old friend today letting me know that, back in high school, yes…it was a topic of conversation amongst my peers.  Can you imagine how that must have gone?  “Hey, you know that chick Wendie Tobin?  Yeah, she’s black.”  Hmmm…and?  But I’m not black, Hispanic or anything else exotic.  Not even Flamingish.

You asked for more pics so here are a couple.  I took them both myself because the people in my life fear photographing me.  And with good reason.  I have a distant cousin who still has an SD card lodged in their colon.

Picture one is leaving the hairdressers after getting my hated haircut.

Picture two is post-party, in my writing chair (I do ALL my writing in that chair).  I was really, really sick having inadvertently ingested gluten in the form of white flour.

Both pictures are really scary as I have ZERO makeup on except for lipgloss.  Really NSFPA (not suitable for public appearances).

Goal for 2009?  Smiling!

Ok seriously,if you have no make up on in these pics, except for a bit of lip gloss,I am going to have to consider coming over to America and kick your ASS!

It isn’t fair that someone can look so good without any make up on.I myself tend to look a little ‘pale’.My own freaking mom asked me once “Sweetie, are you sick?Aren’t you feeling well?”.To which my answer was “No Mom,I just decided not to wear any make up today.”

    So yeah,I’m jealous (of you).

How come you don’t like the bangs? They look nice.
Hmmm I can see how people might think you are part hispanic, but black? not so much. I am jealous of you and your pretty skin tone. I look dead if I don’t have make up on!

Wendie~ I think you totally hot in both pictures and I don’t throw that word down lightly. I like the hair cut but I like how you had your hair before too. It really matters if you like it, is it easy to do? You look great without makeup.

In fairness, you could be Spanish -like me- or Portuguese, so I’m withdrawing my words!

look black with those tiny lips?? i think not.Big lips or minor afros are the biggest indicators of some african ancestry …as my very wasp looking father still has sandy coloured afros here and there. But I must admit you look very similar to me and im mixed race but I would say that is due to your massive eyes and thin lips which I too have. But they could very easily be from some distant indian as in from india admixture which would be classified as european or dna tests.I would say you have some distant indian or romani ancestry.
