If you have more than one child, you know how difficult it is to get a decent picture of them. I don’t know how to superimpose heads, or you know, Photoshop, so I literally take hundreds of pictures and get maybe three that are decent enough to keep. Thank God for digital cameras.
I was pretty pleased with this pic that I took this morning even though Aspie and Veruca kind of have crazy eyes and all three of them aren’t wearing related color palettes. Then, I looked a little closer and realized my youngest son “decent picture” had bigger issues than that. Sigh.

When my kids were little, in was the pre-digital age and I would take, literally, 3-4 rolls of film just to get ONE *o.k.* picture to send in the X-mas card. Expensivo and mentally draining for all of us.
Later, in the digital age, when they were older we started to take Family Vacations. I would situate them in some gorgeous locale, mid-hike to take the pictures for that years Christmas card. My younger son would ALWAYS look like he was out on the Bataan Death March.
“Just pretend you’re happy, because we’re not leaving here until I’m sure I have ONE decent picture!”
Sidenote: A family we know actually photoshopped Dad into the formal portrait one year. They did a damned good job, too – you could hardly tell. They were having marital problems, so I wondered if mom and the kids went ahead with the Dad-less portait, anticipating he wouldn’t be with the family any more when Christmas rolled around!
